Kevin's English teacher Miss Shaw (Lanei Chapman) has some rather unorthodox methods of teaching. She refuses to adhere to rigid teaching standards set by the school board which makes her well liked and respected among her students, including Kevin. While the class enjoys these her new grading system of giving them all "P"'s for "pass", it doesn't sit well with the board of education. After school principal Dr. Valenti (Richard Fancy) finds out Shaw is letting her students select their own grades, he tells her she must follow state curriculum guidelines. Thinking the righteous Miss Shaw will fight the might of system, she tells Kevin "it's just not worth it" and quits, making Kevin feel disheartened. So, she not sticking it to the man after all, she's walking out on her students. Guest Starring, Wendy Cooke as Felicia.
