After Norma finds a clothing sale advertisement in the paper, she urges Jack to take Kevin along for the one hour ride to the store to get him a new suit. But due to Jack's stubbornness to ask for directions, Kevin is unable to communicate with his father and they get lost in the countryside. They stop at a diner where they find a cute waitress (Melora Walters) who tries to bring them together with her flirting, but Jack embarrasses Kevin in front of her. They finally make it to the store but it's too late, they're closed and they popped a tire, leaving Jack and Kevin at odds with each other again. However, Kevin manages to get the jammed luge nut free and change the tire, impressing his father--now they can get back home.
